Cooking with cast iron and using historic recipes

Admission $10.00
Charcuterie and wine served

Matt Yunk will be discussing the care, use and myths about cast iron. He also will  talk about making maple syrup, a season which is coming up soon.

For 35 years, Matt and his family have owned and operated Accurate Graphics, a printing company on Main Street in Dousman. As an entrepreneur with multiple interests, he also owns Yunk’s Sugar Shack, producing maple syrup each spring from his stand of sugar maples.

Also joining us will be Michele Crew, a researcher and cook of “historic” foods, especially around the time of Hawks Inn and the Civil War. Michele is familiar with cast iron cooking in the fireplace in Hawks Inn kitchen where she has produced many dishes for Christmas at the Inn and other treats during our summer events.
