Explore Delafield’s Story at the Delafield History Center

Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a new neighbor, or just passing through, there’s something at the Delafield History Center to spark your curiosity.

Curious about the history of your street or a favorite building in town? Our archives are organized by street and building, so you can trace the story of a specific address or neighborhood with ease.

Our map gallery will show you Delafield through the years. With maps of the lakes, town, region, and state spanning centuries, it’s a favorite for locals who love finding their own home or favorite spots on a map from long ago.

Our Delafield Then and Now photo collection reaches back to the 1840s, showing familiar places side by side with how they look today. It’s a fascinating look at how much has changed and what has stayed the same.

On the lower level, our research library holds an extensive collection of books on local and Wisconsin history, the 1800s, the Civil War, architecture, antiques, gardening, and more. It’s a quiet, welcoming spot for researchers, students, and history lovers alike.

Don’t miss our antique quilt collection, carefully documented to preserve the stories and craftsmanship behind each piece.
